Three reasons why I love my name

Marilyn kindly added me as a writer to her publication Third-Eye-Gypsy — Medium and posted a nice comment about my name.
I started thinking about the meaning of my pen name and the three reasons I use it.
The pen name I chose is Lotus Empress due to the spiritual awakening and rebirth I experienced last year.
1. Symbolism and Meaning
The lotus flower represents rebirth because the lotus roots grow in the mud, the flower blossoms above the water, and then the petals open up one at a time, untouched by the muddy waters.
The mud represents life’s adversities, and the flower symbolizes the journey of overcoming those adversities.
I’ve had to push past the mud in my life to allow for the blossoming of my soul.
The Empress signifies growth, expansion, abundance, femininity, nature, beauty, and nurturing in tarot.
In terms of writing, I want to write articles that utilize the lessons I have learned to help others in their time of adversity so I can provide readers with a bright light at the beginning, middle, or end of the tunnel they are traveling in life.
Just like my spiritual awakening provided expansion, growth, and abundance in my life, I want my articles to do the same for my readers.
2. Anonymity
The anonymity of a pen name gives me permission and freedom to express myself creatively as I see fit without the worry of judgment attached to my real name.
I can say what I want within the Medium guidelines and still be as creative as I am willing to write about it.
3. Cool Name
I think Lotus Empress is such a cool name.
Believe it or not, I wrestled way too long with what my name should be on Medium.
It was probably also one of the reasons it took me so long to write my first article.
But now that I’m here, I’m so happy to be writing on Medium!
Better late than never!
I will have been writing on Medium for a month next week on January 12th, and I am having so much fun interacting and learning from everyone.
