3 Ways I Improved My Mental Health from Burnout
Going out of my comfort zone for help
I needed to get out of my head.
The anxiety, overwhelm, and worry was taking over.
The rumination was getting out of control.
The activities I normally found pleasure in were not cutting it.
So, I had to try something different.
1. Walking
I needed something physical to do to get my mind off of my mind.
I needed an activity to help declutter the mental clutter.
Walking has become therapeutic and cathartic for me.
It helps me focus on the present moment by being more aware of my surroundings and how my body is feeling.
I am not on my phone, listening to a podcast or music, or even walking with anyone.
It is just me, myself, and I which is how I like it.
Breathing in the fresh air, and seeing the clouds, skies, and animals out on the trail helps me to slow down.
When I’m a on dog-friendly trail, I need to be focused on walking, so I don’t step on dog poop.
I usually strive towards walking two to three miles.
